A Salute To The Cultural Heritage of Our Motherland!
Outlining the rich tapestry of cultural heritage of varied states, the students of Class IV showcased the immense wealth of heritage, customs and cuisines that the states of Rajasthan, Gujarat, West Bengal, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala and Meghalaya embody in a colourful tableau— Myriad of Cultures. Under the guidance of the mentors of the Dept. of Social Studies, the ebullient learners garbed the traditional attire, swayed to the rhythmic notes of the folk songs and offered a glimpse of the major tourist destinations through vivid presentations.
Exploring the treasures of history, the students of Modern Delhi International School displayed their skills of interdisciplinary research, critical thinking and problem solving amongst many others in the Holiday Homework Exhibition: History Unravelled. With dedicated corners for the exhibits of different subjects at the Multipurpose Hall, the mentors and the mentees worked in unison to decorate the space artistically and display the pieces of craftsmanship prepared by the young learners of Pre-Primary to Class VIII during the summer break. The corner on Atal Tinkering Lab drew a lot of attention owing to the remarkable blend of science, technical skills and innovation of the assiduous hearts. The student volunteers offered a profound insight into their assigned corners and guided the visitors through the array of colourful exhibits to understand the historical relevance of the same. Lauding the brilliant display of the creative enterprise, Dr U.S. Verma, the Director Principal congratulated the dynamic scholars on their whole-hearted participation. He also encouraged them to take bold strides into expanding their intellectual horizon with unabated zest.
The budding Mathletes of Classes 6 & 7 put their critical thinking and problem solving skills to test by participating in an exciting Mathematics Quiz organised by the Dept. of Maths. Eight in-house teams of diligent scholars set the stage on fire with their razor sharp acumen for numbers as they battled each other in a game of sparkling intelligence through five engaging rounds- Definition Round, Guess Who, Every day Mathematics, Puzzle & Rapid Fire. The audience cheered aloud for their team mates as they cracked the questions within the prescribed time limit through adequate team cooperation. Besides enhancing their inquisitive spirit, the event aimed to help the learners build their confidence, expand their horizon of knowledge and delve into their passion for the subject. Lauding the enthusiastic participation, Dr. Udai Verma, the Director Principal inspired the jubilant hearts to continue on their quest of learning new concepts with unparalleled fervour. Congratulating the brilliant efforts of the Dept. of Maths, Ms. Madhu Malik, the Vice Principal encouraged the children to be the truth seekers.
